Publications from January 1990 to January 2021 were meticulously sought across Ovid MEDLINE, EMBASE, and the Cochrane Library databases in a systematic literature search. The review incorporated comparative studies of final best-corrected visual acuity (BCVA) in patients with infectious endophthalmitis, after either initial T/I or PPV, linked to prior cataract surgery. Cochrane's Risk of Bias in Non-Randomized Studies of Interventions (ROBINS-I) was employed to evaluate the bias risk, and the certainty of evidence was subsequently evaluated using GRADE criteria.
